Architecture, anywhere in the world, has never been ‘pure’ at any point in time. It has always evolved over time. Since buildings are cultural symbols, every new culture that enters a country leaves its mark on its architecture. Practical needs also drive changes in design. As a result, architectural styles across the world have been constantly evolving.

Our Architecture

சைவ ஆகமங்களைத் தமிழர்கள் தான் வடமொழியில் எழுதியதாக ஒரு வாதம் உள்ளது. அதைப் போல வேதங்கள் மற்றும் உபநிஷத்துகள்  போன்றவற்றைச் சமஸ்கிருதம் அறிந்த தமிழர்கள் தான் இயற்றினர் என மறைமலையடிகள் ஆழ்ந்த நம்பிக்கை கொண்டிருந்ததாகப் படித்தேன். வெற்றுப் பெருமிதப் பார்வைக்கானச் சாத்தியங்களை அறிகிறேன். ஆனால் ஆகமங்கள் பற்றிய கூற்று உண்மையோ எனத் தோன்றுகிறது.
